At least Lambie knows how to tackle. Something very few of our fly halves can do.

EDIT:  Which is also why so many tries are scored against us via that channel.

Yup. Patrick "skrik-vir-niks" Lambie.

He is not afraid of anyone. He just keeps on putting in tackle after tackle like a loose forward.

I've also wondered about Lambie. I honestly can't remember when last I saw him play a match winning game? On the other hand I can recall a few super rugby games this year where Jantjies was on fire. I think Lambie, like a couple other SA players are just very hyped up by the SA media. Poster boy Lambie with his no dandruff hair vs shocking haircut and ugly goatee Jantjies (plus all the tattoos). Jantjies isn't everyone's cup of tea...

But if Jantjies is struggling I wouldn't hesitate promoting Lambie again

100% spot on.

The rubbish he is producing for toetie is far from that his capabilities as seen in Super Rugby.

if i was Jantjies id be happy to be dropped for this weeknd

So minimal changes to the Bok team for AB's clash. What's the definition of insanity again? Sigh... Luckily I'm out on Saturday so can't watch the game. Wouldn't mind seeing us get pakslae actually, maybe then totti will catch a wakeup

The AB's have won 7 of the last 8 tests.

The last 4 tests between them had a margin of less than a converted try.

Calls of margins of 30, 20 and 10 by the panel in favour of the AB's, but they are hoping that the Bokke pitch up and continue that classic test match tradition between these two powerhouses of world rugby.

I predict a win by 22 - but more importantly, I just can't see myself missing the game. It just doesn't feel right!

But it's 2 hours wasted if the current trend continues. I personally think they have a better chance here in SA.

Boks have played 8 times at Christchurch and last time they beat the AB's there was 1965, post isolation they have played and lost 4 times at Christchurch with the defeat in 2007 the largest (33-6).

Nothing like a bit of pressure.

GO BOKKIES

I was thinking about this last night. Quite right. I won't be able to help myself anyway. Of course I will watch.

But if after the first half I decide they look like the riders on one of the days of a Grand Tour that lie between mountain stages and the GC guys call a truce and amble along at 30km/h while a break scorches up the road, well then I will read a book rather. I want to see that they look like they want to win. I don't require them to win to get my loyalty but I need to see that they are committed.

At the moment the Boks are starting to look like the French. Not in style of rugby but you know how the French can be dead unless and spend a whole lot of time not getting along and playing like disinterested plonkers then one day, for some unknown reason, they come out all full of fire, tears streaming down their cheeks when they sing the national anthem and then go out and beat any team in the world. I get that feeling with the Boks. If they click and if they are pissed off enough anything can happen.

In terms of springbok players Lambie has had one of the roughest deals - 9/10 he is asked to play in another position (fullback) or in the traditional forward game . I might argue he is the most underated player in SA because of this.  He has a very good short tactical kicking game and an excellent line break - if he never gets the opportunity to use this of course he will look medicore. Jantjies looks on fire at the lions because he can play this type of game. Perhaps the same reason Jantjies is looking so medicore in a bok jersey - same game plan. other thing to consider is we havent really seen him play that much - injured before world cup and injured almost immeditely after world cup - poor bugger has had a rough time of it.

Agree. We all support them but it's infuriating watching the coach stick with players that are plain for all to see out of form. Whilst possible match winners like Jaco Kriel, Marx etc sit on the bench and get a few minutes if they're lucky. I feel for guys like Bongi who got 7mins in the last 6 matches then gets dropped. Same with Mapoe. Then he rather picks a mediocre, untested centre pairing of JDJ (who hasn't played 15 man rugby in months) and Kriel (who is a fullback by the way) instead of one of the best centre pairings in super rugby, Rohan and Mapoe. Then you also have a 9 at wing and a flyhalf at fullback.

Don't let me get started on Flouw... Aaarg!

uhm yes and no!

and since this is cycling forum...

I remember growing and playing rugby I'd rather much preferred being on the field myself than sitting infront of the TV watching my team play

So now nearly 10 years of not being on the rugby field, i ride a bicycle, i love watching rugby but not to the expense of having more fun riding my bicycle and being outside myself...

As you would know, i'm not a bok supporter quite the converse actually, but watching them play, i'd much rather be out riding!
