FFS, i know weight is a big issue in their lives, but to consistantly have mechanicals means they are doing something wrong. Time for conservative like the Bulls did for so many years. I seriously cant believe that carrying an extra couple grms will make that much difference when u consider what they have lost in the last 2 years due to lack of reliability?

Same problem Songo have had over the years. If it wasn't for technical issues and "outside help" they could have won a few more by now.

Yes, maybe you can think of it as prep ito having a backup team for issues like these but you obviously need budget to put another team in the race. 17min is quite a bit of time, but then again it's only stage1

Precisely my point about making your own luck.

Maxxis tyres of some sort

Ja, surely reliability wins over weight weenie tendencies ?

If I am reading the feeds right, 360Life now 17min behind leaders...songo

I really liked their chances this year but their equipment choices are appalling.

That's was Songo's problem. Going for the lightest equipment. When they changed last year to slightlu more robust, reliable equipment instead of the lightest, they won with very few mechanical incidents, if any. (other than flats)

might not be equipment but could have been that the tire pressures was to low :-( And ones you use a bomb then the slime becomes useless. That probably explain why Suzie had 'n pumb in his back pocket on yesterdays stage.

Explain ? What does using a bomb do ?

If we could make our own luck Kevin and Dave would win each time they raced the Epic or any other race for that matter. They know what is at stake, they will not choose kuk equipment just to save weight. Its just plain bad luck. But its early days still, so enough of this moaning and groaning, and lets support them more than ever

Have to agree. If they were only racing against Songo, you could say its early days, but now they have to beat all the other top teams. I'm affraid i have to agree that their race is already run.

Looks like a Maxxis Crossmark on DG rear wheel, very reliable tyre for this type of terain, could be a valve problem, also could've lost allot of sealent as a result of punctures.

I agree. To make up time on one team can be done, but on a bunch of world class teams, you gonna need a lot o l uck to go your way to catch all of them.
