Fixed blade Friday  :whistling:

My employees had a lekker lag at me when I pitched up at the workshop this morning with this bad boy hanging on my belt  :clap:

until you pulled the knife out and they all fell silent whilst taking a step or two backwards!

I'm off to an event where we need a machete! I don't want to corrupt my google search history any further (***see below)

 

min blade size is 12"/30sm

needs to be 280gram min weight.

 

this has been recommended, but we can't source it

who are the experts in this (CT area pref, but not essential)?

Get some good gloves if you going to be using that in water.Blisters are a killer with a machete .Make sure it doesn't have a rubber handle and the blade is carbon steel.

 

Stainless steel won't last.

What gummi says - hacking through jungle is only cool in movies. In real life its bloody hard work and usually better off finding a path, or so the teams of people who had to cut lines through the Congo basin for me said  :whistling:

Guy's ... Shebeen is one of those adventure race freeaaakksss ... so he is looking for pain in painful places to have fun.

Yes, jungle hacking is not really what we want to be doing, but if required this will be useful.

i'm guessing the guns/knife shops will probably have the best selections?

went to outdoor warehouse and the most dangerous looking thing didn't fit the requirements.

 

I now have whatsapp convos with teammates about not needing an extra 3 inches. .....
