We went to the Cape Town screening at kirstenbosch last night and loved the outdoor venue as put together by Galileo Cinema. (It was a bit chilly but we are tough guys, are we not?) I thought the cinematography was great and showed the locations very well. The riding was just totally incredible. The concept of riding remote and untouched places spoke to the adventurer in me. I would have liked to see more of the people and the cultures that made each place special and how they interacted with the riders. I also would have liked more coherent commentary from the riders themselves, but then, that is not normally what they are known for, so I guess I shouldn't expect too much.

They do indeed http://1.1.1.4/bmi/cdn.bikehub.co.za/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif

Meh. Honestly. I thought it was k@k. the same 5 okes riding/sliding/crashing down brown stuff. The best riding in the whole movie was in Virgin Utah on lines I've seen ridden before.

Maybe it's me. i hate brown terrain and no tree's. And there was lots of that in this movie.

This one is still on my pending list.

To date my all time fav is "Follow me" closely followed by all of the other films done by The Collective / Anthill Films. They raised the bar on MTB movies with their first production "The Collective".

"Follow me" probably because its what my perfect ride should be. Ripping single track with some mates. The sequence with Stevie Smith and Gee Atherton riding in New Zealand at the end is sublime.

NWD series has some amazing stuff in it too. NWD 10 - Brandon Semenuk from the top of the mountain ... Say no more

For me it's Fairclough's segment in 3 min gaps (mainly cos i rode all of those trails in Morzine) and Shandro's segment in Seasons.

Must have been a sick budget for that film ....

Red Bull media. They own 2 formula 1 teams so in relative terms it must have been cheap. haha.

Wasn't my fav movie. Not too much stoke watching the "world's best" riding steep hills (not that I'd give it a go..). but worth at least one screening. Not so sure the essence of the movie was about the actual riding though but rather about where they rode. The journey and all that.... The tipping point, Seasons, Made and life Cycles were way better. The train gap in Life Cycles (I think...) was better IMO

Deviate thanks for the heads up on Life Cycles. Just finished watching it. Cinematography is another step up from anything else that I have seen. Awesome film and refreshingly different.

The sequence in the wheat field is just brilliant !!
