If you are the kind of person who "likes to tinker", sometimes that process can be almost as much fun as riding. 26" MTB frame this time but 29" wheels with slicks ... For road not gravel this time9a7e76a3648b24f7f99bbb196c8928a2.jpg7ef6b8d6238f1cc23e2184d51984b845.jpga89b30dab2d6ac7c6aa872a0aaddcce9.jpg

I really really really like this idea. Great for those people with old 26ers lying around. All that needs to be sacrificed are the wheels but you get new life from the rest. I dig it!

Perfect for the current gravel bike trend!

So who's it gonna be? Let's see a dual suspension 26er with drop bars...

Not mine, but friend of mine's...

Guess we need to fit some 29" 32mm tyres wheels ...

My Cotic 26er singlespeed does not keep pace with the group on Saturday mornings.

Since the group is mostly wielding dual suss 29ers on the gravel roads around town I opted to turn my SSoul into a MonsterSoul.

Using a 10 speed 11-25 rear derailleur, cassette and chain (all 105) from an ignored time trial bike, Ultegra STIs and handlebars from the road bike that broke my collarbone, the MonsterCotic was born

Currently she sports the Funn Hooka downhill cranks with 32 front chainring from the singlespeed. The 32 front should make for an easy affair with this bike [emoji7] on the flat gravel roads here.

I kept the 26er wheels with Maxxis tyres, Suntour Epicon shock and changed to mechanical disk brakes for the occasional stop.
