As much as i like the idea of bitch slapping him...

Karma is doing the 100% perfect thing here.

1.He is avoiding conflict.

2. he has made his concerns in a related, repectful but public way

3. he has invited this chap to explain from his side of the story

4. he has chosen where he can/cant spend his hard earned money.

All of these things will have a far more damaging thing to this chaps business than a p klap.

Well done Karma for exercising restraint...something i doubt i would be able to do.

Even more reason to. He's had 70 years to learn how to treat people with respect.

Maybe, but we only have one half of the story here and now everyone is all pumped up to beat up a 70 year old!

Hardly gives any bragging rights at the pub!

My post was made in jest. Like I said earlier in the thread, some things are not worth it.

I agree, sometimes good old fashion sarcasm and wit in a retort can deal a blow as swift and deadly as any right hook!

Don't think many of us hangs out at pubs. At least it would not have been much of a fight. Just a quick BOO and he would have toppled over and break a hip

yeah its a *** place that. Cant even call it a shop and if you dont know of that little 'centre' you struggle your ass off to find it... then you finally get there and you have to deal with a knobhead like that. Went there once for a minute, left and wont go back even if he had the best deal on something i needed.

I dont see Mr Bicycle Trader wading in on a public forum with an excuse or explanation only to get lynched by everyone here. I would hope that a PM would be sent but wouldn't bet on that either. My advise is to move on, never set foot in his shop again and advise others to do the same.

Prehaps, refer to Wayne's post further up!

Like I said in my post, I invite him to tell his side or apologise.

If he had a bad day, he lost a loved one etc and snapped, or a case of wrong place, wrong time, then say so and rebuild your reputation here.

Until then, I stick with my bad experience at his shop, and wont recommend it, nor visit it, no matter how big my dilemma.

I know other brilliant shops, that are not even close to home, but I would rather drive out R50 Diesel, and pay R10 more, than support BT.
