Please remember that there will be Rent-A-Cows available. For R150 (that goes to CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation) you can hire a Cow to ride the 10 or 20 km event with your child while you go do your race. Cows are limited so get there and rent your Cow before it's too late!

Only if you go sleeveless with armwarmers & compression socks

apparently sleeveless is becoming a no go from CSA, they said something about it last weekend at babba's, something about it being in the pipeline soon to be implemented.

I think the main problem with the seeding is not the database itself, but that race results are not being captured quickly enough and this is therefore an administration problem. Race results are generally available a day or two after a race, so why then does it take months to load them into the SA Seeding database, by the time they are entered (if ever) they are no longer reflecting current rider ability or achievements.

I understand that only certain races are used, but to have only 2 races out of 5 "LISTED" & 3 other unlisted race results recorded / captured so far for this year, which means good results are not being taken into account?

I must disagree with you on this, my finding in the time since the first SASeeding race I competed in in 2009, was that the results are always uploaded very quickly onto the SASeeding website.

Here we go again.

I've been seeded very *** again. My mates dad with an index of 70 something is in E. and I'm in H with a 40 something.

Anyone else experience the wonderful work of saseeding as well?

Meent, you should rather have done the real MTB race this weekend - Magalies Monster. No worries with half a million other riders and batches ranging from A to ZZZZZZZ, etc. Plus it is a better test of a MTBer's mettle than the route to the east of Hazeldean. Sure there are some nice singletrack sections, but NO real climb... Easy choice really.

I agree that the major races (Advendurance & Trailseeker series) seem to be uploaded timeously, however the "smaller" races (which incidentally are also listed and timed by SS timing) do not seem to be loaded into the SASeeding DB so quickly (if ever). Surely ALL these results should count?

I just feel that if a rider is doing what he can to attend as many "local" listed races as possible and not just the premier of national events, (and I'm not talking the mickey mouse races here, but events where the entries also run into the hundreds) they should still be credited with their current results and be seeded and grouped with riders of a similar calibre.

Agree - the only way we will have a comprehensive and reliable database is for all results to be loaded.

I'm still waiting for the Northern Quickie from last year to be loaded after it was advertised as a SASeeding (friendly) event.

Followed it up with SAS and their excuse was that they are waiting for the results from the organisers.......

Organiser details lead to unanswered / dead phones.

It will be SO easy for CSA to enforce the submission of results to a central database to create a seeding ladder as part of the 'endorsed by'/sanctioned status.

If no results, then some kind of deposit is lost....

However there is too much politics and big heads involved.

seems like a lot of people got seeded in a

Then they should be out of the way when I go past :)

Picked up goodie bag and number board yesterday, was so excited I even washed my bike! I must say I'm impressed with the bag, did not expect to get a T-shirt and a water bottle ... nice to have some good sponsors backing a race.

Thinking about it .... wouldn't it be nice to be able to check seeding online for a race?

You can on www.eventry.co.za - log in and select manage entries and you should see your seeding.

USN bottle in bag (along with another packet of Maggi stew that I'm NOT going to try) as well as a Nissan Trailseeker t-shirt (by the time I got there, they were low on everything over Large and under Medium lol - gives you a nice idea of the racer's profile) plus a waterproof cellphone pouch (that's definitely getting used!)

Maybe ask at Lynwood cyclery today?

I got a bottle. I have doubts about whether it is spill proof.

but who cares. I'm riding my bike tomorrow. Learning to share the single track with the masses :)
