First morning with a fat shake. Would love to say I feel awesome but hells bells that's a lot of fat in one sitting. Tried the one in Noakes book based off htone's shake!

Jip, it is a lot and you will feel it the first couple of days but after that you will start to crave it. The fatshake is a brilliant invention from htone. keep it up!

How'd it taste? Keep meaning to buy some coconut cream(milk?) but never seem to remember...

I made it exactly the same as the book, with coconut cream, cocoa powder and some xylitol and stevia sweetener. It tastes pretty fantastic and I only felt a little nauseous on my cycle in to work.

That said, we may be still feeling the side affects of switching from carbs to fat. NEither myself or my gf are feeling super amazing at the moment.

I did find that Noakes recipe might eb enough for two shakes? I doubled up the recipe and is makes almost 1L of shake.

I tried drinking iced lemon water to help ease the stomach and it seems to have worked, I am also feeling ridiculously full (on a side note) and the gf found it way more appetising than force feeding bacon and eggs so early in the morning (She isn't a morning eater).

I also need to buy a scale and some ketostix maybe. We are entering our 4 week in LCHF and neither of us feel like we have lost weight or look much different.

We have had to derail on two days due to company events when we couldn't get around beers and carbs but got straight back on the next days.

Just an observation - I don't get the 'feeling fantastic' thing - what I get is the 'feeling horrible' when I have a carb attack.

For me, it's not so much the positives of LF that works for me, as much as the negatives of HC.

That said, I do have way more energy and motivation to do stuff when I'm properly LC.

Was considering ditching the LC thing for Christmas (going to have extended family around which is always a problem) but had a HC weekend laaast weekend combined with pizza on the Tuesday and felt horrible for the rest of the week.

I don't know how carb intolerant I am, but I am definitely not tolerant to wheat.

People often blame sugar for the rise of obesity and other diseases like Metabolic syndrome, diabetes and heart diseas. However, all this is usually based on correlation data, and not proven cause and effect studies. So if correlation data is to be used to assign guilt, then surely other components in the modern diet should be evaluated as well. Looking at these graphs, it is striking what stands out, FAR above any other, what changed dramatically in the last few decades in the modern diets of the western world. Hint: It is not sugar or grains ...

Spice is a significant energy source? and no sign of wheat? Why does it list shortening, fats and oils separately? List does not really make sense.

Maybe you should read the whole article for better understanding ?

I received information from a colleague on a guy who brings in and distributes certified grade A2 karoo lamb. He has given me quite a bit on the origin of the lamb and delivers weekly to areas in Cape Town.

The colleague reckons it was good meat. I have placed an order that I will receive on Thursday, I will comment again once I have tried the lamb.
