jmaccelari Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Never leave home without it! A word of advice, dont apply to vigorously, you finger may slip, you could then possibly breach the nought, a surprise of note, so a friend told me I was taught by Ali Mclean how to put it on. She told me "Andrew does it like this!" with all the effects! Geez, I laughed!
Robrider Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) I use it for longer rides. For stage races it is indispensable. Saw someone at j2c pull out after day 8 because of saddle sores. They had one single easy day left, but they couldn't do it. Heartbreaking. Edit to add: Important rule - Never ever double dip. What you take the first time is what you put on... Eldron Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Rides <2 hour I don't bother.Rides =>2 hours fo sure! Oh and tri/du suits I use plenty - the TT position creates a lot of friction between the family jewels and the thighs....sooths the running burn too...
patches Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 < 50km: don't even bother with a chamois. Just baggies.50 - 70km: bib shorts with baggies over.>70km: baste that turkey/ice that cake/ butter that bun. *Sani was the first time I ever used chamois cream. I don't regret it. But I doubt I'll ride that far in 3 consecutive days, for a loooong time, so not about to stock up.

ChUkKy Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 Then you get your training partner that wants to shake your hand good-morning minutes after applying his.... Then you should raise the question immediately about how he applies his cream, to the chamois or directly to his ring piece, if its the latter... a knuckle punch will do
North Shore Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Chamois cream is great, use it for anything longer than a 50km. However, on the extra long rides finding I'm getting bad nipple chafe, tried nipple cream but it doesn't seem to work. Anybody got any useful advice?
NotSoBigBen Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I always apply the cream direct to the chammy then put the pant on .......
