won't stop until drivers in cars start getting extremely scared/careful around cyclist.

and this will only happen when they're held accountable.

That is always the point "driver walked away injury free"

When will this madness stop?

Its not motorists fault. Accidents happen all the time. Cyclists need to realise that riding on the road, amongst cars, is dangerous. Probably for similar reasons that we're not allowed cycling on freeways. You've got a same chance of being in an accident when out in your car as you do when out on the bicycle, the only difference is that you will get seriously hurt when on your bicycle.

Sad,, very sad.

RIP

This is not going to stop.

Use "nuisance" lights all the time, Day and Night. The brighter the better and more is even better.

lights have nothing to do with the problem

it's about attitude of one road user against another.

Are you sure of this?

Until you know the facts, refrain from ad hoc comments.

What I am saying - Lights will make you more visible for the driver to see.

Makes sense to me.

Drivers involved in recent accidents have somewhere along the line said "I did not see him"

It should be a rule to ride on a public road with lights.

This does not take away the loss and the tragedy involved.

I'm talking in general

SA roads.

In Europe, cyclist have the right of way, as the less protected, more vulnerable, period, the motor vehicle is always held accountable when involved in an accident with a cyclist, they are so careful around cyclist there is hardly any cycle vs motor vehicle accident,

in SA, as the old saying goes, we don't drive, we point our cars like weapons.
