Nice, keep the info coming...this might also help with real weights of things against what manufactures claimed weight is too

I'll screw up the averages here. Let's go steel:

Colnago Master. Bought second (or more) hand. All Campy Chorus. Mavix CXP30 wheels.

11.3kg.

R5000.00.

R442/kg.

Le Turbo. Bought third hand in 1985. Sachs-Huret & Weinemann & Mavic

10.3kg (yup. lighter than the 'Nag)

R500.00

R48/kg

Oh, and ha-ha: ratio of bike to rider's weight ...

Bike 11.3kg

Rider 60kg

= 5.3

Good point on rider weight...we were discussing the other day on combined weight and what percentage loss would be off frame and off body...

I think the combined weight is a good idea. Combined, we are 89,7kg of blood sweat and tears. Hope to go down to 85 for DC, all on myself and none on bike. Another interesting fact, my bike is 10,81% of my total weight. If I lost the 5kg would be closer to 11,5%. Think % of total weight is a good measure
