I tried to get a KOM on my last ride on may 31. The descent from the mast, did really well until the last corner. 4 ribs and 6 vertebra and 10 and a half weeks later and I still don't have a KOM.

Well, that's my excuse for losing it on the tar section on a route I have ridden hundreds of times...

I just checked out that segment and I'm ahead of the KOM on the tar section, then I wait just over 20 seconds at the transition for my riding mate, then proceed to lose by 26 seconds or so...

I'll bubble wrap my ribs and Smack it for you ;-)

First Rule of cycling improvement... do the things you hate the most.

I don't hate them , I detest intervals, it destroys more cyclists than it builds them up.

Nothing about cycling I don't enjoy to be honest.

I don't like them either, but I do like the improvements in my riding they offer.

For the cyclist on a time budget, they are almost the only option to get fast fast. For the Pro with all day to ride they can be avoided.

Don't get me wrong, I still like to ride my bike and look around, smell the roses and take photos, chat and sight see... but when it's time to get fit then the blinkers go on.

I think Strava Flagging could become a new form of trolling for those who have become bored with regular Strava.

I know of someone who Strava'd a road segment in his car just to tick off the previous KOM. It was hilarious the comments flyiing back and forth

I did that by accident on Sunday. KOM on Conrad drive. Ride got flagged faster that my top speed in the car. I laughed. A lot!

Not to try and sparkle a debate and nothing personal against what you said, but it is that exact mindset that has me saying I detest intervals.

That particular demographic all take the same approach and later on in bites them back and they suffer burnout.

One also needs to be honest to one self, if time is extremely limited, we need to also understand that the results will and should actually be a good reflection of that time.

Forget flagging, next time someone steals a KOM by a ridiculous margin, I'm using Digital EPO:
