Stand out performer for me is Lecuona. Impressive times for a rookie.

Yes he has had more time on the bike than Brad, so thats unfair, but he just seems to gel with the bike.

Very early days.

The new Yamaha engine is still 8km/hr down on the rest I see.

Marc has again said he does not want an easier bike, he want's a faster bike. Even if it means he has to take more risks, and ride more aggressively.

Ducati at sea, Petrucci leaves early. They really need to swop Miller and Petrucci. You need teammates who drive each other. Well everyone except Marc apparently.........

it still blows my mind - when i think about it - that rossi is 40 year old. he may not be what he was, but to be doing those times at his age is just as freakish as what Markie Mark can do now. both are not human...

I don't care if VR46 comes last every race, he is fun to watch and his interviews are amusing. His heart is still in it and we the fans still love him. I know he would never go back to Repsol, but put him on that bike again and he will be back up there. Besides, now BB33 can say he raced against the legend VR46.

It's not about the fans, it's all about the sales.

There was also a line a few years ago about how would MotoGP survive if Rossi retires.

Looks like he's not going anywhere anytime soon. It seems as long as he has a seat he'll ride.

Disclaimer: I am not a Rossi fan. I'm ambivalent about the man.

My personal favourite in the MotoGP class was the Ducati with Casey Stoner. And previously the Alice (pronounced Al ee chay) sponsored Ducati with Troy Bayliss.

Hmmm I think there may be a pattern emerging here...

I'm a fan of Motorcycle Racing in (most) of its forms. So as far as I'm concerned, the more characters involved the better it (the competition) is.

Oh and MotoGP will be fine if Rossi ever retires.

Sums up my views perfectly.

Agreed:

“They are like sharks circling around me,” he told journalists during the 2009 Mugello GP. “If I am not strong, I know that they will eat me in one bite. They look at me with a little bit of blood flowing and maybe they think, ‘okay, now is the time’.”

Coincidentally the last time he's won the world championship

  • 3 weeks later...

the term LEGEND gets thrown around very quickly nowadays.

this is a legend:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Surtees

this is not:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_Hamilton

I'm not a great Lewis fan, but for someone who hasn't got much left to prove in F1, I would follow him if he tried to make it on 2-wheels.  And if he did, I don't think there would be many who would disagree that he would be a legend.
