First time to Van Gaalens for me, should be good adventure

Having regard to the updated route and the taking out of the technical decent, what would you guys rate it if you would give the Monster 10/10?

 

 

 

Moreover, my front brake is MIA, are the decents of such a nature that I would be at risk?

 

 

 

Contemplating entering, but want to be sure!

I think all races your brakes should be in top shape, but at VG it is not only some of the steep downhills but some of the single track requires a lot of braking due to the rocks etc

Hey guys can't wait for ts van gaalen... Doing the 40km this year, hopefully the 70km next year. Do you guys know what trails the 40km wil follow ? I'm quite familier with van gaalens trails, thanx guys and goodluck to all of you on race day!!!

Not as bad as at other races, I suggest to still be there early though

They usually divert traffic to park at the eventing spot (le Godimo). Last year Nissan VG was on same day as that massive road race that caused some havoc. Edited September 6, 2013 by MONS

Looks like std VG floating bridge. Dodgy looking but you make it over :-)

Ok so once the existing bridge did collapse when my nephew went over. Wish i had been there with my camera

Its spring time! Why not start it off with a quick swim at VG.

Just take some extra chain lube for afterwards.
