Been tried before with the 69'ers. To my understanding the front wheel makes the biggest difference in rollover and handling compared to the back. So not sure that this is going to be better than a plain 29er.

Lets not forget the first foray into 29ers only included the back wheel. The front was still 26inch

But we already have 27.5 650B, no?

Also I think they might be illegal ito racing....doesn't uci rules state that both the wheels must be of the same size

It's a stupid rule

'Actually, the frame is designed to handle even a 140mm suspension fork, that can have its travel reduced to 110mm, in the case where this is needed. Silverback also enlarges the list of manufacturers who gave up producing 26 inch-wheeled mountain bikes, offering the Signo Tecnica in the 27.5 and 29 inch versions. Additionally, the mountain bike will feature a 1×10 drivetrain, but further information about pricing, specifications and other things shall be revealed at Eurobike.'

So maybe not a hybrid type bike although that second picture shows otherwise ....

Erm... according to my calculations it's 25% better than a naainer, but still 75% kakker than a 26'r. Takes coat and heads for door.

Yeah, the wording is not very clear... the picture definitely catches your attention.
