I hope you'll give us another chance next year. Good work. I'll always be there if it's safe. Riding and racing the peninsula and the S/burbs is / should be something we all should treasure. People travel the world to ride these roads and taking in our views and it would be unbelievable if these races didn't exist. I have to pinch myself each time I train / ride around this part of the world and it's on our doorstep. It just can't be more dangerous racing in a pack or fun riding than it is riding with your mates. Earlier the better for sure. Keep up the good work.

Omar Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 i stopped racing the s suburbs a few years ago. the traffic on okweg & spaansemachtriver road is just too much to contemplate. sorry . i would rather just ride the roads for fun. once past the s s'burbs and u take boyes to miss the very dangerous Muienberg / kalk bay section the roads are imho very safe and enjoyable. to race down okweg at mid morning is a tradegy waiting to happen.

Think a serious amount of pressure needs to be applied on the city. And here I was under the impression Alan Winde & Zille are keen cyclists.... My bad

I remember that guy with the horse box as we started climbing OKW and he came up hooting like a mainiac, There was a white hilux D4D no too far behind him that rolled his windows down and started shouting @cyclist for not riding in the yellow lane. The fat bas**d is lucky we didnt catch him at the robot he would of gotten on his glory, cycle race or not i got no time for these kindof people and take offence to people like them..! Majority of CT drivers have a very low tolerance level and most of the time it takes just a little bit more patience and everyone will be happy.
