So true. Accommodation is really important. Reckon they could ask R8000 per team and get it sold in a weekend.

This years entry fee could even be slightly more than 8k.

Guess we'll find out in 2wks time.

ergh... i have a love hate relationship with this race. I'm either unfit and fat and suffer for 200km, or im on top form and get dropped @ 50km - and then suffer for 150km

either way its farking hard

Ha, ha, perhaps your definition of "top form" needs revision.

I rode a 5h45 double century on my own, and yet I still got dropped... I blame the 2 euro pro's that my team decided to import

FanD out of shape will give most "in shape" riders a hiding second to none. :whistling:

Accommodation for our all girls team booked... thank heavens, as when I googled 2 weeks ago there was NOTHING for 12 peeps. 4 riders committed so far. Last year entries were R4500.00 per team, but then add on all the extra's (transport to and from for bikes and bodies, plus food and all the training rides). Pricey ride, but gobsmackingly stunning! We train in the Cradle. We are also doing 70.3, so would be fun to add triathletes to our team, so that we can speak the same language. BUT... you have to enjoy a glass of vino or 10. We do not aim to win, rather have a good time, support each other and enjoy the ride. So bank on 8 hours!!

Hi Sarnicoview

I did the DC last year with my club but would like to do it this year as a more 'social' ride. I conveniently live in the Cradle area so joining you for training rides wouldn't be much of an issue.

Let me know if you'd like to add another girl to your team :)
