Berge en dale - 8th Feb

If you cant stay with the front of the group on the first climb, I would recommend conserving your energy for after the first 9km - then get in a strong fast group for the balnace of the race. You dont want to pop at the start and then limp the last 90% of the ride...

Gary - is that profile the old start from the casino or the new start right at the bottom?

I've put the start/finish at the entrance to Cradlestone on Hendrick Potgieter.

Where the start/finish actually are, is a mystery to me. So I've just made an educated guess.

Thanks for the advice.

Looks like I will drop back to BL, and hope to stay at least in the middle of the group up to 9kms.

Then either keep with them and possible pick up some dropped AL riders.

Hope the finish is not like the D2D.

After last weekends fun  , I hope I will still be strong enough for a sub 3.

VA.... the first 9km is going to blow every group apart like polony on a landmine! Pink stains everywhere!

I'm also in VA, and yes... I'm expecting some insanity for the climb up Krugersdorp hill at the start.

This one will be my first time and after reading all of this I think I should just pull a sicky. If I do actually make it up that first hill I will probably need a medic

Last year the wind was pumping too. Guess that will make it 3 weeks in a row where the wind will play a roll. Hope youre in a group up the long drag to and past Maropeng, once you hit the caves section it's vasbyt time!

It is going to be worse because the climb is longer now!

The map showed that we get back onto the highway at Beyers? Last year it was the same but we were waived past th eoff ramp to the Muldersdrift road, past Carnivores?

Anyone have any clarity on this year?
