And then call your buddies that live along the route.... Cape Town weather change per area.....

Like Yesterday.. Rain in the CBD, clear skys in some areas... and lekka wind past Cape Point .....

Yes, looks like there might be wind. The problem that I have is that it is my 13 year old boy's first one, and although he is no noob on a bike, he is light at 45kgs and might be wasted by the time we get to Smits. Yesterday we cycled back home from Rooi-Els to Strand against the NW and he was tired when we got home. So, what call to make when the wind does pump? Dissappoint him or let him suffer?

Let him ride and suffer.

I did it as a laaitie and don't regret it one bit :)

The first one will always be special no matter the conditions.

I rode Suikerbossie and Chappies yesterday and the wind was pumping on Chappies. Was actualy dangerous on the Noordhoek side.

could get very interesting with droves of riders with less than reassuring riding skills.

Yes, I feel you guys. BUT, the Argus is not about those guys at the front chasing sub 3s and 4s, but is about getting the average person off from the coach and onto a bike. If it blows real bad, they won't bother and will just sleep in like any other Sunday. I think 2009 was an eye opener for the average cyclist with average skills.

I had to train a lot in the wind this season (even with sinus problems) so maybe this is one race where I will feel 'at home' then.

The weather sites have been unpredictable lately, so don't trust their 'wind projections' that much early in the week. Did a training ride around the Argus route on Saterday and it was suppose to be damp in the morning, slight chance of rain early on. In the end I worked on my tan. The slight NW wind coming over Smitswinkel caught me offguard though.
