I have a confession.

I changed lanes today without signalling.

But to be honest, I'm quite sure the people behind me knew what I was going to do? I mean, I looked and I had some space, and I know I should signal, but the last thing I want to do is be considerate and cautious - you know, for my own safety.

What do you all think? Am I wrong? Or should we just decide on the application of a law every time we should obey it?

Were you driving a Beemer? They don't have indicators.

Most expensive cars don't have number plates. I've personally never agreed with having plates on my car. I generally don't speed, but if they want to fine me on the odd occasion I do speed, they should actively catch me and issue me with a summons there and then. None of this passive policing nonsense. They've certainly never caught me on camera as I jump the red lights.

My goodness, just how fast do you drive? Hope you hoot as you plummet through at near light speed (not that it will help since the sound of the hooter only passes a while later, but just so people can't accuse you of negligence..).

I don't drive fast as a rule, but I don't have plates either. That's why they don't catch me. There are more serious crimes to worry about in our country.

Dont worry, 85% of other drivers also dont bother using their indicators anyway,

you probably prevented confusion on the roads.....!

who uses hand signals when changing lanes on their bicycles, as required by law ........ oh yes, in case scotty nails me ... every bicycle is required by law to have a ring ring bell, not a bell helmet, which would be great marketing.

I do! But it is mostly to "signal" to the driver that had just cut me off / jumped the red robot / changed lanes without signalling / does not have a number plate (pick any of these)....and my finger ain't pointing horizontal... :whistling:

indicators are now sold as optional extras. Smartphones for testing is now standard......

Smartphones MUST be firmly held in the hand to make sure you have a comfort blanket to cuddle while you drive into the back of the car in front of you. It also doubles up as a miniature air bag to prevent your left testicle hitting the steering wheel. You dont want your phone items flying around the car like shrapnel when you have that aforementioned "accident"

As long as you give the magic wave after changing lanes and cutting off the driver behind you.......then all is ok.
