dirtypot Posted June 8, 2018 Share Just putting this hidden gem out there, very similar setup to Hans se Kop I would think but 1.5km longer Hek tot by die GalgRide Segment Western Cape, South Africa5.70kmDistance11%Avg Grade Galgeberg climb near McGregor, tar road from the gate to the top at the mast What makes it brutal is that it is literally the same gradient all the way up, just relentless, there are literally no easier bits to catch a breather. Pretty decent view from the mast as well - you get a 360 view from Caledon in the south as well as Ashton, Robertson to the outskirts of Worcester in the west. I've done this one too. It's certainly a tough one especially if you've ridden a few trails from McGregor on the way there! IceCreamMan Posted June 8, 2018 Share Hill near me that has a sign stating its 21%, next time I take a picture. Not too long though but when the road is wet you slip and slide and fall putiing down power. Duane_Bosch

L46 Posted June 8, 2018 Share Climbs R1.xlsxCouple of guys on an overseas forum came up with a formula to compare climbs in general.I have added this formula to a couple of climbs here local. That's a real cool sheet, thanks I've added one or 2 major climbs that I've seen/done in and around Lesotho. Most significant; Sani Pass Border to Border comes in at 170.17 and Mafika Lisiu Pass in Lesotho comes in at 175.12. They both rate more than Alpe D'Huez, Tourmalet and Madelaine but Ventoux remains a monster. If you ever want to do a magnificent climb, go out to Katse Dam for a weekend and do Mafika Lisiu, it's smooth tar roads and traffic is very limited. buchanan Posted June 9, 2018 Share Very keen to ride Hans se Kop above Sir Lowry's pass. Can anyone link a 3D Veloviewer segment for it? I tried to, but I seem to only be able to do it for segments I've ridden myself. Wonder if it's still possible to ride it since someone mentioned they haven't been any attempts in 2018 according to Strava.
