I think I got the hang of things now....

So the okes that ride 29ers come diss the 26ers on the 26 thread.

So now do we that ride 26ers go troll the bmx thread?

Im going to tell the bmx okes their bikes suck because they have no shocks or gears.

They need to get with technology. :P

Last time I road with a guy on a 29er he pedalled away from me only because he is fit and dont suffer from asthma. However the minute the jeeptrack pointed a little downhill I went past him. Maybe its because I love riding downs and bounce around on the little bumps, maybe the 29er rider was scared of anything techincal....... all I know is, my 26er rocks. So much that commencal has posted it on their bikes around the world campaign for 3 months in a row. Now I must just get them a pic(s) of me shredding it.

Only time i saw a 26er get dropped by a 29er was when the 26er had the same chainring size because his 29er mates told him he must have the same chainring size to prove that 29ers are faster.....

yes I know...thats why they so popular

I eide both, love the 26er in the mountains, when the terrain gets a bit rough and twisty (it is a 150mm machine though), and the 29er doing the gravel grind. Doesn't help that the 29er is a ss, but it was bought to be used as a ss, for general riding, and gravel grinding rides like Trans Bav and 360, where it will get gears. It is a more nimble 29er than run of the mill 29ers though, being a Ragley.

Horses for courses I say[emoji41]

there is a nice comfort benefit to a 29er hardtail. Add in a 27.2mm PAVE seatpost and you''ve got a bike that's light for Xc and comfortable for marathon and can fit two bottle cages inside the frame whilst having fewer moving parts and points of failure.

the hardest thing is finding Tubeless tyres for 26",

You can have Kenda....Crossmarks....or if your lucky some Conti Race Kings.....Thats the only downfall to a 26",

In all other aspects they are better

Easy ones to fine (apparently) are the Maxxis Minions DHR/DHF for 26", Both tube and tubeless versions. I'm saving for a set... Psychotic grip, but they are Downhill/AM tyres

Edit: Oh and apparently WTB is easily available

I heard on Saturday that they will no longer be importing 26" WTB tyres.

Well then we are all going to have to stand together and do mass imports ourselves.

Cant help it that the majority dont have good taste in wheel size

Ooohh I miss the old emotional wheelsize debates, always ending with the nice PC "Ag whatever, just ride what makes you happy"

But I guess there are still a few hardcore 26er fans around waiting for this 29er marketing fad to finally blow over...

Starting a wheel size debate is always fun... everyone turns into those old wind up toys, you just wind em up and watch the sport!

I love getting my group of friends and fellow riders worked up....the responses some days are classic... and it is probably the easiest button to push
