most car hits seem to occur from behind, how to prevent or limit, knowing law enforcement as it is?

reason for q: saw something made in Technopark that blew MY mind, and will get me back onto a road bike again, after abandoning road riding some years ago.

Nearest guess wins a prototype try-out

An airbag of sorts ?

Or a Startrek type beam.

For roadies to use it it will have to weigh almost nothing.

In car alert system similar to what is used in the Dakar...just reversed...when a bike comes in proximity, say 100m, internal car cycle alarm starts warning jingle?

Park assist alarm in both your bum cheeks, when car comes close, find a place to park...quickly.

But was it aerodynamic?

Lazer beams projecting a couple meters in front of the cyclist; to the side and sommer behind him also. Like a big red triangle with a bicycle in it shining on the road. Big enough for drivers to see in the road. Flashing maybe.

Edit: It's already invented though.

Self-driving cars that are well programmed or a deflector shield

Ah, I should have read the latest posts before making an ass of myself.

As an aside, did you see Google has started city tests with them in SF?
