Gonna so this in Afrikaans. Stanchion tubes is tog sekerlik n tipe alu pyp met n coating wat iewers vervaardig moet word. Net gewonder of dit moontlik is om dit te laat opmaak op lengte ens ens by een of ander ingeneurs plek en dit self vervang?

Wel, kwotasie is R3700 vir nuwes deur agentskap. Al gesien dat daar op sulke goed 150% markup is.

Sou nou nie se 150% en dit hang af watse vurk, maar die goed is nogals duur van die vevaardigers af, moet dan vervoer koste by tel asook BTW en dan maak van die pryse bietjie meer sin asjy n besigheid wil hardloop.

Maar sal nogals wil hoor wat se manne oor self. Vervang.

dont even go there.It will cost you probably in excess of R15 000 to have them made up

As far as I know, pressing the stanchion into the crown when it's assembled permanently deforms the crown, so you'll never get the fit right when trying to replace it.

 

And I probably don't need to mention how important it is that those two bits stay firmly attached to each other, do I...

 

Prevention is better than cure... get the fork serviced regularly or learn to do it yourself. It'll save you a fair bit of cash and heartache down the road.

Biggest problem, other than fitting it into the stanctions, mighbe to get the outside diameter to the correct tollerance. Just buy new fork uppers will be more expensive but will save you a lot of trouble!
