CubeD Posted July 1, 2014 Share I'm busy with a '96 CR250 McGrath replica - managed to source some hard to find bits to make this one special build. Sold my CRF250 and bought 2 x CR250s (MC 96 and an '03 to ride). I also have a '58 Triton pre-unit and '69 Bonneville bobber http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/RedLadder/DSC_6407.jpghttp://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/RedLadder/DSC_6254.jpgmy bobberhttp://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/RedLadder/IMG_7505.jpgand my Triton (still working on her)http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/RedLadder/DSC_2108.jpg Tromp, Fire Engine, Paul Ruinaard and 4 others
JannievanZyl Posted July 1, 2014 Share Used to be heavily into biking, at some point around 13 bikes in the garage. Then got into bicycles and slowly replaced the motorbikes with bicycles. Shocking that a clean R1or R6 has the same value than a plastic bicycle! Still got 2 Virago cruisers, the obligatory GS and a DRZ400.
Undun Posted July 2, 2014 Share Not sure, but you can read about the build here He had to tame the bike to UK regulations...Imagine that beast without limitations. would love to ride it man...

CubeD Posted July 2, 2014 Share Thanks Undun - I was in Std 8 when McGrath was king so Ive always loved that '96 CR. I've tracked down original, real deal graphics that were leftovers from MC's '96 Season - not cheap at $400 but it will be the cherry on top! Jeremy Pincus built the works pipe for me - piece of art hey! Thanks Tromp - yes she's a wideline featherbed, with a pre-unit Triumph 650cc heart. I entered my bobber in the last two 1000 bike shows, but she wasn't well received so Im not going to bother again. Im riding Mankele this weekend anyhow, enjoy the show! Look out for Lourens Millers 30/30 Harley custom (Black and brass with 30" wheels) its a beaut! Tromp

My bobber made it on to The Exif - pretty proud about that http://www.bikeexif.com/triumph-bonneville-bobber
CubeD Posted July 2, 2014 Share Very lekker Cube; makes me wish I had time, money, talent, skill um and, and, and................ Thanks its mostly time (on the CR), money was spent on the bobber - Im clueless with british stuff - the threads alone and imperial sizes makes wrenching on it difficult. But a dirt bike is an easy build, so Ive been enjoying it - got amazing results with a Soda Blaster (you don't even need to remove seals etc - its that gentle, yet strong enough to remove rust/oxidization on parts) Thanks again for the kind words
