Bought tyres for it yesterday btw.  300x21 front and 4.10x18 rear Kenda's. With tubes and fitting came to R1200.

You can't buy two GEAX mtb tyres for that.....

So here's where we are at the moment - I haven't taken any nice close-ups because there isn't really much nice to show - all I've done is given it a damn good clean and scrub (20 years worth of mud and chainlube!), swingarm needleroller bearings to replace the bushes, new ignition, indicators, grips, a bit of powdercoat here and there, and a decent service.

Took it for a quick ride up and down the road (without the seat!) - it's not actually too bad.  Brakes are a bit ***, (I think they were always like that, I'm just used to disks), its lovely and smooth (better than I remember my 175 to be), and it had quite a bit of torque - more than I expected.  The 200 will leave it standing, and you can feel the quality of the 200 - it's very solid.

But compared to my Brother-in-Laws Big-Boy 250, the little 125 is just way better - even at 33 years old the Japanese quality just comes through.

Big question is, now that the fun of the rebuild is over, what to do with it!

She came out beautifully.

Well done, once again.

Now find an 350Elsie and do the same.

Been there, done that, sold in a moment of pure weakness, regretting it ever since......

The guy who bought it, probably got one of the most original YPVS 350's in SA.  I rebuilt it when I was still working at Yamaha SA, so I had access to all the dealers stock, as well as what was in the Pinetown warehouse.

Apart from the wheels, frame, engine and forks (and a few other discontinued bits), everything else was NOS.  Wiring harness, CDI, Clocks, seat, clutch, crank, rear shock....

Hell, I even gave the guy 2 brand new Original (in their wrapping) exhausts which were lying at a dealer in Kroonstad.
