Would support that 100% as long as it's across the board. Maybe have like a TRC for guys to come clean and then life bans after for any positives.

Sure....across the board....no matter the amount or substance.

I see FIFA are very proud of the fact that no player has tested positive at the soccer world cup

http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/players-doping-samples-have-tested-clean-at-world-cup-according-to-fifa-070714

FIFA's chief medical officer Jiri Dvorak says analysis of all pre-competition and post-match samples was completed through the first quarterfinal match last Friday.

All 736 players have given blood samples for their individual biological passport. Two players from each team are randomly picked to give samples after each match.

Dvorak says no doping controls were taken on days between matches.

He says all samples ''arrived in good condition'' at the World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited laboratory in Lausanne, Switzerland, where samples are tested. WADA revoked the Rio de Janeiro lab's credentials last year.

No player has tested positive at a World Cup since Argentina great Diego Maradona in 1994.

Sure or what about....and you going to love this

1 offense = banned for life from all competition. Like the cape epic does wrt it its policy. I wonder how pro mtbers with a postive feel about the fact that they can never compete on that stage again.

I agree with this.. We should see athletes like we see ourselves. Yes, they have a talents but we also have talents not necessarily in sports but maybe in math for example. As an engineer "wanneer ek k@k aanjaag" -building collapsed/people die.. I will not be able to work in the engineering field ever and I will even face jail time. Don't see why it shouldn't be the same

Sports with a spice of money will always be a dirty cocktail!

"Lance should be forgiven", "cheating is to be condoned", "doping is perfectly acceptable", "everybody is still doing it", "everybody has always been doing it", "bernaud hinault is a ****"...you guys should read what you write and reconsider whether you want any part of a SPORT that features the above. Lance Armstrong is a lying, cheating, doping scumbag and fully deserves his permanent ban from ALL competitive sport.

I am not advocating that he does not deserve everything that has come to him as a result of "being caught". However there are many other cyclists in the honours roll who's names still appear as winners. What's good for the goose........... I do want a part of the sport, I just accept that they all dope. Most are avoiding the positive test results, don't know how and don't really care.

What does wrinkle my bag is that cycling and cyclists are always the pariah's of the sporting world's cheats. Test rugby players as often as cyclists get tested, love to see those results.

The tragedy is this, there are two Lance's. One the cyclist the other the Cancer survivor.

One is dead, the other has done an incredible amount of good and continues to do good. There are few that Cancer has touched that would disagree with this, I believe. The man has so much to give, and given a second chance can do a lot of good. That chance will not come without a degree of forgiveness and the hounds that hunted him down need to realise that they now have the power to do good, the punishment has been disproportionate and given a chance, Lance can contribute a massive amount to Cancer support as well as sport. I believe the greater good is not being served by vilifying and trying to destroy him

You weren't on the hub in the days when LA was whipping the other manne were you?

The LA debate aside, it occurred to me recently... how many weekend warriors would fail a blood test? Not because they are doping to win a race, but because they may have had flu and something in their medication was offsides.

Or someone takes a painkiller after a nasty fall but carries on because they want to finish the race.

I repeat, I don't raise this in the context if the LA debate, but rather just a personal observation that it seems most casual cyclists are not playing by the rules.

Does it matter that they are not looking for a podium finish, but just to finish a race? Should anyone care if it's like someone who cheats at golf and they are only cheating themselves?

Deep stuff man...

I believe it really sucks even if you're not a pro.

How is your life in exile? :whistling:

Dare I even say...? There are some okes here who are out for blood man. Apparently taking goed is unforgivable (though the good book states otherwise), and should you get nabbed you should be punished the same way a pedophile should... This Lance guy really matters a lot to some people here...

I say good on Lance for telling it like it is, I have a few drinks, maybe slur a little later, I play golf and enjoy a few meals out with friends. Regular person.

Although I do have to say I am a little concerned that he appears to have not consulted the Hub recently regarding his sloppy lifestyle of enjoying a few drinks and playing golf, I am pretty sure I read here somewhere how terrible a few drinks are for you, and playing golf is only for semi alcoholic, fat, old men, no self respecting cyclist plays golf.

But I might not have had my glasses on, so I probably read incorrectly.
