This pic, I assume was taken in the mid to late 80's. My old man, far right, was our soccer coach, who died in 1990 from a heart attack. That's me in the middle holding the ball. I played as goalie as I didn't enjoy soccer too much.

Your dad passed when you were still quite young. Sorry man that must have sucked :-(

Once played against Sutherland when the field was covered in a thin layer of snow. Beforehand someone dragged a stick in the snow, more or less to show where the lines were......and we just played. I remember all kinds of things from that day, but, strangely, not that it was cold!

I grew up in Springs - East Rand....

I never got into the 1st or under13/14/15 A teams. So we played the "earlier" games... And I remember literally playing the frost of the field Saturday after Saturday....

We were the tuff ones, the later/upper teams were the softies....

A James Bond film..can't remember which one, I was very small and kept on running and out of the theatre to see if it was still light outside.????

First movie at the drive in was ET, ET freaked me out so I hid behind the passenger seat of the car..

So technically I didn't see any of those films. ☺

My milestones . . . .

First film ever would have been an Animated/Disney film. Bambi or Snow White or something. Back in the day they only came to the cinemas every 7 years or something like that.

The first action film I remember was James Bond - Live and Let Die. (1973)

The first film at our new cinema in Kriel was "Heaven Can Wait" (1978)

The first film with cool surround sound was "Battlestar Galactica" which sounded awesome! (1978)

I can't remember what the last film I went to see at the movie house was - it's been a few years now.
