I came too late for that, by the time I became aware, Woodstock was already the icon against which all other events would forever be measured.

I was in matric .We did have our own little Battle of the Bands in December of that year.

Metallic Sunn with Patrick Canovi who you can still watch at the Quarry was the highlight

Now that's something I haven't heard of in a while.

Band practice in high school days, in the garage at one of my mates parents houses. One mate on the drums, one mate playing bass, one mate singing, and me with my Rockburn.

We didn't fare too well against a certain band or two, but I still had fun jamming those power chords on stage.

Who remembers going to the river with mates and packing clay at the end of a stick. Klay Lat!

For those who live in Somerset West, on Aberdeen street, just off Dummer, there is a stream.

We used to have klaylat wars there!! Epic battles. The houses around the stream often had substantial collateral damage.

Best days of my life.

Late 1976 the Coca-Cola, Sprite & Fanta yo-yo craze was in full swing!

I remember "walking the dog. Of course they were banned in school .....

Lol.. we were in primary school and one day during a boy was playing yo-yo on the rugby field..now the string must have snapped but it spun all the way to the netball field and hit my friend on the eye..they were banned after that.

Also playing running redrovers during break with the boys..someone also broke and arm one day..and then that was also banned ..the bans never lasted too long though..
