The Beer Debate

Recommended Posts

Reminds me of the ol myth that castle is bitter and black label sweet....on the bitterness scale, they are identical...pilsner urqualalla or whatever is SAB's most bitter beer. But because zamalek has banana as dominant tasting note, and is perceived as sweet..

fookin mind games

I vote we do a blind testing at Mankele on every beer we can find!

Dear Beer Drinkers,

Has anyone tried the new Castle Chocolate Milk Stout? The name kinda appeals to me...

I tried my local bottle store yesterday but they hadn't received their stock yet so I ended up buying a case of Bavaria Alcohol Free Apple beers for R100 (buy one 6 pack get one free!). Now I like Bavaria and all but that felt a bit like going to the Guinness factory and only drinking the tap water.

Yep I have, last night. Great stuff. It only has a slight hint of chocolate, it is also not as "heavy" as the normal Milk Stout. Will be buying more.

Thanks for the review!

Yup seconded, it's very understated. And a lot smoother to me than Milk Stout. Definitely worth a drink or two.

Nice work all you CMS chocolate milk stout finders! Not easy to get it, SAB only made 1300 cases for national distribution. Glad some of you enjoyed it. Have you also tried the new Castle Milk Stout Ultra Smooth? Its SAB's first nitrogenated beer, so its the closest you will come to drinking draught but from a can.

I cut the wires in my brain short on that, now that you brought it up again ,my eyes are pulling a funny squint as those two wires are now short circuiting from trying to make contact.
