DieVlieg Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I saw a 'new' magazine at CNA the other day, never seen it before, night have just been called 'mountain bike' - was local, super glossy, think, square spine, wast a monthly, looks really good.....R49.95 I think. Think I have seen it too. But if not mistaken it is an annual publication
Shebeen Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 i do get imbike mag on my tablet too. it's free and not bad. don't wait around for it though.
Borborygmi Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 @R60 for a digital Tread mag vs R25 for Bicycling something is wrong there...Can buy the UK mags for that price on the ipad!
Lurch the stalker Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 At Uni, with regards to the iPad mini, I'd go out on a limb and say it's the screen size. I have an iPhone and a 'normal' size iPad and am reading Tread via zinio and it opens double page on the iPad but only single page on the iPhone.
SiriS Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Bicycle, Tread, Ride - all on Zinio/iPad. I go through the same ritual every month...can't wait for the new editions...they arrive...I'm excited...I read...I'm somehow disappointed. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Kranswurm Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 None...I know how to clean my chains and bikes
Joeboy69 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Bicycling on MySubs and Tread on Zinio, Full Suss if I happened to go to a cycling shop that had stock, else the inter web :-)
Pieterg Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Ride and Tread it's South African SilverRider 1
eddy Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) This pole can't be for real! Hubbers already know everything... Indeed. We even know that your post should take pride of place in the "spelling and grammar" thread... Vote for Ride added Edited August 22, 2014 by eddy Andrew Steer 1
RichieT Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) They're all pretty shallow and when they do gear reviews they only include, say, a quarter of the brands or models so your conclusion is meaningless. I haven't bought one for months, mainly because I can get my fix on the internet... sign of the times. But I guess Tread is the most honest and genuine Edited August 22, 2014 by RichieT
Karooryder Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) I'm subscribed to Bicycling for the purposed of supporting a local magazine focused on the sport I love. Other than that, I find its content sometimes without substance and all too often repeating (be sure to catch your annual “Ride your best 94.7” article in the October / November edition and your “Kill the ARGUS” in the Feb / March edition). To be fair, I think it’s pretty hard to stay fresh and current when you have to fill 100+ pages with cycling-related subject matter monthly (perhaps that’s where the ads come in… ) . Thread is cool and I love Full Sus. Edited August 22, 2014 by Karooryder
