all orders i've placed recently have insisted on couriers and refuse to go via post. one day the post office is going to be totally obsolete and then they can strike over unemployment.

Unfortunately we need to use private facilities to do our work. Our government facilities have been destroyed. No pride, all bloody useless

Did you know that the post office has more branches in RSA than any bank in RSA? That means (among other things) that people in the rural areas have easier access to the PO than to banks, I also think that is taking into account ATM's, but do not quote me on this.. There is more than parcel/ postal delivery riding on the PO.

Yes I sent two parcels overnight to JHB last week Tues. The one parcel was only received yesterday only because the one buyer made a plan. What a waste of money for these buyers. Could've sent it snail mail rather.

My local post office painted a dire picture of massive delays. Well the post office came through. I still can't believe it! CRC order was sent Thursday last week and it arrived on Tuesday - 4 working days delivered to my door. That was with free shipping as well. I think I am in shock..

Yip. Waiting for 2 parcels. One from oneup (with no tracking number. I guess that one has no hope), and one sitting in the international mail centre for 2 weeks.
