I drove up the coast this past weekend and looks like they've sorted out the construction of the road in from the highway, so the traffic nightmare seems to be over. Just in time for the holiday makers, so that's good news.

For mtb, there's lots of riding to be done at Holla Trails. Lots of good road riding too - the local roadies leave from the BP garage in town every morning around 5h30 if you want to hook up with them.

Thnx for all the info, think i will take my mtb with so will go and visit holla trails.

Rode Tokai this am, then on the way down for the second time went otb. Broken wrist, I'm pissed with myself.

That's a real shame!! I recall reading how you were asking about trails in and around Cape Town. Hope you got them in before your crash. I'd rather not ask what happened. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Anyone in the North Coast area/Ballito, drop me a line. After all, you'll need your bike, you'll be going nowhere fast on our roads at the moment!

The Nutters have some awesome rides planned over the Dec holiday period.

Hi , I will be in the area next week, and would love to join. Assume this is MTB ? What speed / level are we talking here?

Start with the Red route (the long option is best, and around 28km). Some quality singletrack there.

My other favourite is Maroon route. Also about 28km.

Then the Yellow route is also very good. 45 - 48km.

If you're fit and need big miles, the Black route is 85km.

If you've completed a route and still feeling fresh, Orange route is just 15km and a nice 'add on'.

Just remember to get onto the trails very early if it's going to be a sunny day. By 9h30 if you're still out on the trails it can sometimes feel like you're riding in a blast furnace, especially if you're not used to our heat and humidity.

Plett from this weekend and then St Francis from 26th to 10th.

Road riding only

With the wife's and kid's bikes, there isn't enough space on the rack to bring my 2 bikes.

Mtb during the week and on saturdays and road on a sunday.

Ok, perhaps we can hook up for the road on sundays.

i'm unfit, fat and lazy, so if you are patient on the hills pm  me if interested.

In Ramsgate and its been raining buckets. Anyone know which trails around here will have the best drainage or know nice quiet roads (tar or offroad) to hit for some training? Seriously pissed off that my BF brought me here knowing it rains for days! FFS.
