Wind speed that stops you riding?

Just wondering.

When looking at windguru/your favourite weather app, at what predicted wind speed do you guys go, "Well I guess I'll be taking the car tomorrow" ?

Also, is it different for commuting and just riding?

I just go no matter what. I promised myself not to sit in traffic to work or home again. The wind doesn't kill you,but you do think twice about the ride when it is windy. Only thing that stops me from commuting is rain, because Capetonians drive k@k when the roads are wet.

Capetonians drive *** full stop.

the stronger you are, the better you can ride and use your strength to overcome the wind. That said, 30knots on the Atlantic Seaboard makes me wish I'd stayed home.

Wind, what wind?

It was the dog that bit my calf and then the idiot pedestrian that stepped off the pavement and did the headless chicken in front of me that ruined my afternoon ride into the South-Easter.

You guys heading north have a tail wind - try Liesbeek Parkway when it's pumping S-E!

Living in PE if I didn't ride when the wind blows I'd never ride ;) Some places have a lot of trees and it blocks the wind nicely.

This was last Sat / Sun 16 Nov's Windguru prediction for PE. I didn't ride.

Never check the wind speed.  But on some days when the winds a bit strong, I will rather take the bicycle than the motorbike.  The motorbike in the wind is no fun at all.
