Kudos to the guys and girls. Hard as nails. Sadly this race is not for me. It's not the sore arse, lack of sleep etc that would get to me. But there's a boredom factor on those long never ending open stretches of road that would simply kill me.

Sleep deprivation. Very very hard. Would love to read some write-ups about this afterwards to see how the riders experienced it.

1st Pic is where they will be riding from (Pampoenpoort)...

You just got to love some of these Afrikaans names for farms and little dorps

@TheMungaMTB give some feedback, what happened with Renato Sabbioni?

@Davideristix took a wrong turn which cost him a couple of hours and I think his GPS was messing him around. Decided to ride back to Bloem!

Chris Van Zyl and John Ntuli have had no sleep. @SSGrantUsher about 2hrs. @pwc_za @Mitsu_Motors

25km's behind, but with the extra sleep... Grant is probably 'winning' at this stage. It's all about how the guys keep it together though.

Gonna be a brutal second half, they surely can't keep this speed up?

But he not getting closer anymore . At one point he caught up to the chasing group and has fallen off  again

Perhaps riding clever.....maybe listening to his legs......
