Sounds like his regular training route - perhaps your friend can lie in wait for him in the morning. Although if he is aware of this thread then perhaps he will be trying out a new training loop for a while...

Same thing happened to a mate of mine about three years ago in Hout Bay. Was driven into the back of a parked car by some idiot who drove off. He went through the back window and as he fell sliced his arm open very very badly. This guy is bloody lucky.

how far could he have gotten? look like he may have cuts and abrasions. Maybe check with the local hospitals if anyone came in for glass cut related stiches or am I watching too much CSI?

someone needs to enhance those pictures...who knows..if we pass it through an image enhancement package we might be able to see all his details from his ICE bracelet reflected off the hubcap

How funny it would be if some other dude posted a topic saying:

"Rode into a parked car yesterday..... blah, blah, blah..."  It is Friday! We can only hope!

Ok.....this car was parked in Simons Town in front of the owners home. The dude on the bike hit the PARKED car around 6.30 this morning. The cyclist was offered help by someone who saw it go down and when the witness went to ask him if he needs help, he refused medical help. The bystander then went to his car (not the one damaged) to get his phone....when the dude on the bike fled the scene.....on his bike. The bystander was able to give a description of the cyclist, to the owner of the car. She then went to find CCTV footage of someone fitting that description, around that time of the morning.....this is him. He left Simons town on his bike and appeared to be fine. He cycled alone. She is aware that he has 24hours in which to rapport it...and respectfully requested for him to come clean and to own up. I am her best friend and it is pretty crappy that a fellow cyclist won't just own up. As someone else said.... We,the cyclists, also have a responsibility..... His behavior could lead to someone who has less time for cyclists.....and a pissed off motorist with a grudge against cyclists....could hit me!!! I would rat you out even if you are my friend....but you are not so I am asking for someone who knows this dude...to ask him to come forward. Simons town is my route and I do not want any pissed off drivers there.

Couldn't agree more

That only happens in CSI.

Since it's Friday I just tried some Strava spying.  Nobody from yesterday morning said "rode into a parked car", but more importantly, nobody had erratic patterns or speeds around the crash zone.
