Spoke101 Posted February 15, 2016 Share Tyre for my Volvo S40 R999Conti GP4000S R880 GP4000S is a competition race tyre and one of the better ones. So maybe compare that the GT3 race tyre and you looking at 15-25k each. You can get a bicycle tyre for R80 if you want to go cheap. Robodog Posted February 15, 2016 Share Here is a simply test. How much would YOU charge to wash my bike? And remember to add in cost of consumables:  degreaser, bike shampoo, brushes, cloths, water Patchelicious

Carmichael Posted February 15, 2016 Share Why are you paying for a bike wash if they service your bike? Â It is a free option where i service
scotty Posted February 15, 2016 Share Been cleaning my bikes ever since I got them.  Only initial cost is the degreaser, lubricant and cleaning liquid. Old toothbrush and rags cost nothing, water and you good to go. Hairy

rouxtjie Posted February 15, 2016 Share Some shops do charge and don't tell you so you not aware until you pick up your bike. Your minor service suddenly costs a lot more. aahhhh therein lies the problem Any bikeshop that refers to minor / major services are setting themselves up for failure. The client will immediately think car and assume consumables are included...like with a car service.  Go to a mechanic and ask for specific things to be done...stay very far away from major minor type services. scotty and Tumbleweed

Shebeen Posted February 15, 2016 Share Anyone here trained up their domestic manager, garden executive to wash a bike (properly)? I only really pay attention to my drivetrain, a mtb frame can be a bit dirty. BUT it would be quite lekker to get a bike Polish once a week with no extra cost

BUT it would be quite lekker to get a bike Polish once a week with no extra cost I have a dude called Samsung who seems to take over my property on the weekends. He's cool. Not sure if he's a domestic worker or a gardener, actually. One minute he's weeding a gutter (you read right), the next he's doing the dishes.  He doesn't speak much English, and I don't speak much...I don't know what language he speaks, but it's not from around here. He did some bikes of mine this weekend...bit of pointing, and a bit of hand-waving coupled with a shake of the hand, and he was off...did a great job. If I was the exploitative type, I'd set up a bike washing business, pay him as usual - excuse him from his other stuff - to wash bikes, undercut the bike shops and their exorbitant washing fees... But It is nice not to always have to do it when I run short of time.
