Whether Joe is guilty or not... I'll just say generally that although doping for any rider is ridiculous, its even worse when a pathetic pr*ck decides to cheat in a Vets race to stroke his ego!

Agreed if you doping with intention and cycling isn't your career and income then you have serious issues... but this is where my previous question about open/seeded testing comes from. How many of us are then not clean and not actually aware of it. When im sick I go to the doctor get antibiotics, for all I know what im taking is illegal but not intentional.

Cycling isn't my career and I don't know what all the finer details of the rules are around doping.

So if we are all riding in races should we then be expected to know the rules and be clued up if we are not racing for a career and not even in a licenced category?

Are there any previously banned dopers from the elites/VA/VB groups now languishing in the fun ride groups after their return?

A previously banned Elite (Clenbuterol & Testoserone) just completed the Epic after serving a 4 year ban (multiple substances)

I am disappointed to hear this , as I know Joe and also believed his results were from the long , hard hours he spent on the bike ...

However , I think if you have to dope in the vets cat , then you are less talented than you think , and have serious EGO issues .

I think ban them for life ....

Interesting as I thought you can't compete at the epic if you have previously tested positive?

Who was the rider?

That epic rule only took effect from 2013 or somewhere there abouts

If you know about the thread a few months ago by dope2survive you'll remember he said that's the thing about some drugs, Your able to go hard and long day after day. Your body recovers so much quicker. I for one will race HARD on Sunday and not be able to train again on Monday. Same goes for when I do my intervals or a hard gym session, the next day is a LIGHT session and I don't do intervals/weights before races simply because my legs are too tired and sore.

Berto was very lucky/ had good lawayers. Clen is NOT explained easily. Prednisone is very commonly used though.

Stupid question maybe.

Commonly used for what?

As I understand Clen is used for fat loss.  Prednisone same thing?

prednisone

I do and have used it for:

gout

asthma

water on the knee

edit: I think hayfever too

I'm sure that he did train long hard. 3 of the 4 PED's mentioned in the finding do nothing if you take the and do no training. Rather, they help speed recovery, allowing you to train harder, and making the training more effective.

Do you think a successful licensed rider would suffer from any of that? Just saying. I don't know you and don't know what sort of riding you do but I would think someone with problems like that wouldn't be able to race vets. I could be wrong.
