I say cycle in whatever the hell you want to.

You can cycle in your favourite Billabong or Quiksilver tees if you want to no 1 can stop you as long as your wear a helmet.

I don't see a problem with people cycling in replica team kits.

Whats the big deal?

Personally, I think team kits and cycling kits in general are hideous.

Team Sky, Belkin and AG2R kits looks amazing though.

Wear what you want, snobs will be snobs, haters will hate!

Just dont let me pass you up hill while your wearing this, thats just embarrassing.

What amazes me is that the rugby teams have not jumped on the cycling kit bandwagon and brought out team-branded kit for cycling.  The Bulls, Sharks and Stormers would make a fortune.  I know I would wear a Sharks shirt for my Saturday morning ride on match days.

Well maybe not this season, but normally!

I have actually seen Sharks Cycling clothing a few years ago

You are correct.  They started a Sharks Cycling Club, backed by SuperSport, when the previous CEO, Brian van Zyl, was into cycling.  Fell apart about 5 years ago.  But the kit did not look like Sharks rugby kit.  In fact it looked more like SuperSport kit.

If PRO kit is for sale by the team, it's okay to get one.

I have a team gilet I love to roll in every now and then.

I think this is the best answer yet...

However, I will draw the line and say that wearing the Yellow Jersey on a club ride is a no go!

I think there is a difference in wearing your Football/Rugby supporters jersey when supporting a game than wearing it when you are playing a game.

If you play rugby/soccer at club level you wear your club kit, you dont get to play a real game in a Springbok jersey unless you have earned it....

You also wont play a soccer game in ManU kit, you will wear your club kit.

So if you are on the hills of Alpe d'Huez supporting Sagan, wear your heros Saxobank jersey, its a sign of support. But if you are wearing a TDF Yellow jersey in the Cradle on your weekly Sunday morning Latte ride, well........

When you ride for your local cycle club don't have the option to wear your replica kit

When you play a club game you also don't have the option to wear your own Sharks / Man U kit so I don't see how this is a valid comparison?

A lot of rugby/soccer players train in old replica jerseys without being looked down upon as wannabe's.

What is wrong with playing a game of social footie in your Barcelona kit or doing a breakfast ride with your mates in team kit?

Even if the kits is miles to big for someone who really cares as long as he is enjoying himself and riding his bike.

I thought that fashion police hag passed away months ago already....

Yes and if you trained in a 10 year old ex pro cycling kit, you will probably been seen as cool and retro.....

If you practiced soccer or rugby in your brand new just launched kit, the guys will also have a little chuckle.

Nah not in my neck of the woods.

You do of course get some guys who are fully kitted out like Cristiano Ronaldo and they will even kick and run like him but to each his own.

Just enjoy yourself and worry less about the next guy.

Our team shirts for the Double Century a few years ago were similar. As a p@ss poor climber it gave me motivation to get better at uphills.
