I saw a guy on Sunday still riding with his Cape Epic Board ...on his MTB... on the road

Maybe he doesn't know how to take it off

My epic sticker remains on my bike. It is a tattoo for the bike. Most difficult week of my life. And most expensive.

I get a bit of a hard time for it. Only from people that haven't ridden the event.

Everything else comes off. Elite road bike flags sometimes stay on for a few weeks.. :)

Take that thing off.... I will give you a hard time about it....

My workstand has a couple stuck on - guess I should take them off there too... :)

Is it ok to ride with the medals of all the races I've done around my neck? :P

Yea why not. Great weight training. The more you race, the stronger you get!

Ive still got my race board from the NG Kerk Bloemfontein Wes 20km race that I came 11th in in 1998.

It motivates me.

You must enter again, maybe now you are good enough to beat some of the other 10 guys that participated

I still have my "I rode Spionkop" sticker on my bike since last year's Berg & Bush. It's starting to peel and I guess it will eventually fall off on its own, but I ain't taking it off!

I take it off. All of them.

I used to keep boards and memorable medals, tshirts and even the stickers. Not anymore. The only person I really want to impress is my wife, and she thinks I'm amazing even before she realized how hard the Epic was. I just need to love her in her own love language.

My mates outride me anyway, so Epic bragging points does not count in our circles. So even if I still had my epic sticker on the bike, they are going to gooi mielies anyway.

Leave it on or remove immidiately when you get home?

Finally took my Sani stickers off a day or two before the next Sani when my bike was getting it's annual wash.  Found one from the year before below those ones...

Depends if you're a rider or a polisher...

I agree with you, but I still wear my DC T-Shirt to bed on those cold nights :P

Even found the frame I did my first Epic on, no sticker, but found a spare one in between al my mtb stuff...

i have a gazillion 94.7 and argus bike park stickers on my road bike.  not for the sake of making a statement I can assure you, purely because because those stickers are so damn hard to remove.  I must admit that my roadbike only gets a wash every leap year and maybe 2 services in a decade...

I see ironman stickers were mentioned above.  I don't believe that's a fashion statement either, the remnants of ironman stickers are to be found all over on my seatpost and even my road helmet.  damn glue they use has got to be one of the few man-made things that will outlast the apocalypse
