How to reinflate tyres after refillling sealant

Hey peeps - hoping someone out there has got a few clever tricks on this one - after I've unseated the bead on a section of tyre to top up my sealant in my tyre, are there any effective ways to get pressure back into the tyre? I mean besides owning a compressor or a fancy pump with a pressure chamber.

I find when I do both my tyres, I have to use a bomb on each one, so it ends up not being cost effective (which is the point of me doing it at home)

Anyone?

Fill it through the valve!

Tell me more! Are there certain tubeless valves that are removable? Do they sell syringes that can work into the valve or something?

I guess it depends on your rim & tyres but I usually deflate my tyre, remove the valve core and fill with a syringe. Replace the valve core, open the valve & re-inflate. The only time you would need a bomb is if you break the bead seal.

Most valves you can remove the valve core with a set of pliers.  Go buy a syringe from the pharmacy.. you can screw it into the valve and have the valve at the bottom (I usually turn my bike upside down) ... remove the plunger then pour the sealant in... watch it go into the tyre.  If it stops because of lumps in the sealant... use the plunger.... repeat until you have put enough in.. then remove the syringe and reinsert the valve core and tighten with pliers

Cool - how would I know if my valve core is removable (i.e. non-Stans) - I'd rather not just twist it hard to find out :)

through the valve works, and is my preferred method, but you don't need to bomb it necessarily.

just be careful of not breaking the seal too much when you pour the new sealant in.

use a floorpump,

if you must, removing the valve core will get more airflow(but then you could just pour sealant in that way in first place).

You should be able to tell by sight if the core is removable, basically a seam or line runs around between the core and valve stem. Post a pic and we should be able to tell you.

Get an adapter from your LBS (Presta to Schreader) you screw it onto your valve, pop over to the garage and use their compressed air.

I have a floor pump, and althouh possible, the pain in my triceps is just not worth saying I seated my tyre with a floorpump.

As above but IF you do use a bomb you must wait till the bead seats and then deflate the tyre. Reinflate with a handpump. Most sealants reacts with the bomb gas to form "alien boogers" in the tyre. I also do the same if I used a bomb on the trail.

Petrol station and use soapy water on the tyre to help it seat. It is not easy but after lots of persistence, it is possible

If your tyre is tubeless then the valve will have a removable core, no matter which system you use.

I also agree with the Presta -Schrader adapter and going to a petrol station for reseating.

As Talus says...the CO2 gas in the bomb reacts with the sealant and causes it to deteriorate. So by all means reseat using a bomb but then deflate and re inflate with air....at least twice.
