How do you create a segment with strava?

I’m tired of the already existing ones ( tired of being number 999) and now want to make my own out in the sticks somewhere or in an obscure downhill where I have a chance

And to think I was feeling sorry for you for the gardener taking your sole KOM in the driveway.... :P

Those are my driveway. You should feel sorry for me that it is over 9km long on average!

I am in Plett and sitting second behind Kevin Evans, how does one flag a ride with suspected effort was assisted ????

Don't be ridiculous - he would never be the kind of knob who gets a KOM on an ebike!

You know what they say about animals, being all equal? I think the same applies to KOM’s. I have onespecific KOM that was really hard to get and it is my precious. Its a 20min segment. Nothing technical. Just flat out dragging dirt road.

There is this one KOM that I have tried now twice and failed. I really want it. Been standing sice 2013. 2148 people on it. Time is 11:46. Tried it twice in one week. Still a few seconds shy... but before the year is over, it is mine.

Due to the storm winds around our town, most segments are out of reach...Most if not all the segments KOM times are only beatable (maybe) with a monster tailwind...Very sad indeed. As an example I did a full out 8km effort with a lekker tailwind last weekend averaged 37kmph on my mtb on the 0.3% incline average. I thought, jeez that was incredible only to realise I am more than a minute off the kom time ????

Isn't that the inevitable conclusion of most Strava segments on open roads? Eventually a strong rider will come along in stormy conditions and post a ridiculous time that can only be bettered if you go out riding in a worse storm.

That is true. It is just sad that 99% of the segments are on open roads prone to weather abuse. I guess it was fun while it lasted????
