Morning everyone,

I'm about do finalise a deal with Bridge Cycles in Cape Town. The thing is, I'm in Pretoria and must first pay before they send the goods.

I can fully understand this, there are a lot of skelms out there, but just as they can't trust me, I can't trust them.

I suggested that they send the frame to a LBS in Pta and then after I inspected the bike (for scratches, cracks etc) I will doe an EFT with special clearance. The Bike will be in the shop for 2 days do rebuild in which time they can verify the transaction. They can arrange with the local LBS to only release the bike once they are satisfied that they received the money.

BC originally agreed to this, but yesterday after I gave them the go ahead, the guy phoned back and said that they first need the money. This makes me feel uncomfortable. Why the sudden change?

Did anybody deal with them before, ordered stuff and did the goods arrived in time as promised and was it in a good condition?

I would love to hear from guys.

Thanks.

im not going to vouch for BC but they are a real business(that I have happily purchased from) and have been around a long time....

they have had a few issues in the past that don't need to be repeated

as to their request for payment in advance you answered the question yourself ...

, there are a lot of skelms out there,

I wouldn't ship goods without payment even in these circumstances if it goes bad there is the consumer protection act and they are a real business ..

good luck

Very trustworthy shop. They've been around a long time and been stung by crooks too many times to be trusting a guy on the phone on the other side of the country.

I have faith in them to send you what you paid for.

They have been in business for over 20 years. I don't use them personally anymore but they are certainly not fly by night. I have bought 3 bikes from them over the years without any hassle.

as a previous poster has said, they're a legit business and have been around for years and years. that means they have a reputation. i'm sure your transaction will be fine.

used to my LBS when they were walking distance from my house, bought a couple bikes there and a load of spares.

I wouldn't stress
