Stretch Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Anybody found any useful Apps for running in the Connect IQ store? Race Screen and Dozen Run seem interesting so far. I use this instead of dozen run https://apps.garmin.com/en-ZA/apps/a520cc32-75b2-4b19-a97d-1079b931dc3d Tubehunter, ScottCM and Edgar 3

I prefer that to current pace. The fascination with Cadence on these is interesting, considering it is an assumed metric and i'm not sure how valuable it is to measure while running.

Barry Stuart Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Anybody found any useful Apps for running in the Connect IQ store? Race Screen and Dozen Run seem interesting so far.For a race I'll use Runners Window on my main screen and Virtual Pacer on my second screen. Virtual Pacer will let you set a desired time for the distance and give you your current and required paces, predicted finish and how far ahead or behind the pacer you are. If I recall correctly, I think you can set the amount of time over which your current pace is calculated. Tubehunter, Stretch and Edgar 3

RussD1 Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 To all our Comrades runners: PLANNED THE WORK, NOW WORK THE PLAN From ‘Running Within’ by Jerry Lynch and Warren Scott. “The moment has arrived. It is time to put it all together: you have planned the work, now work the plan. Your training is complete, and you are ready as can be. Show up to run, and set your body free to do all it was trained to do. Take a few minutes to reflect and meditate on how fit and ready you are and how fortunate you feel to be in good health and able to participate in the race. Experience the joy, sense of pride, and congratulate yourself in achieving the benefits of your training program. That in itself is a victory worth celebrating. Remind yourself that your mission is simply to run the best you can and not obsess about the outcome. Focus on running one kay at a time. Think soft is strong- this reminds you to run fluidly and not force or push. Run smarter, not harder, by thinking calm and tranquil thoughts…..” Best for Sunday the 4th. Russ. Andrew Steer Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Your guys thoughts on driving the route the day before? I've never done it, but my mate who's doing his first reckons it's a good plan...The wife's still undecided
shaper Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 I haven't looked at Race Screen yet, what have you found that's made it better?I sometimes use the race finish time function as it can predict you race finish time if you have put in the distance and will adjust it accordingly based on your pace. Other than that is much the same as runner window. I guess using virtual pacer on your second screen will give you much the same info with regard to finish time.
