Its said to be the tuffest one :-)

Usually around 650 runners and 1000 in peak times. If you can manage 24min you will be in the top 25 so not crowed

Looks like you do some hard work from km 2 to km 4. Elevation gain is relatively similar to Alberts but it does look like a tough course. I'll give it a try in the new year ????

Some water on the belt and my erratic heartbeat seems fix. Im not broken after all ????

A quick lick as you put it on works as well and is not as cold as tap water.... ????

How many Parkrunners here and what times are you guys running?

I have done about 7 now. I usually attend the Golden Harvest Parkrun where I always miss the sub 25min mark.

My aim is to get under 25min before the end of the year .....

I've done all the Jozi parkruns except for Rondebult. For a smaller parkrun (note the lower case p and one word - apologies for the snobbery) in the northern suburbs, try Ernest Ullmann parkrun. Small section on the braamfontein spruit as well. Takes place in a safe, clean, neat, civilised park and not congested. They have around 200-300 runners per event. Doubt the venue will be able to handle a 1000...

Xmas tis the season not to run....

Seeing my physio again tomorrow, off from running till (at least) then. Don't want to go 3 steps back by starting too early, esp since it's semi-okay not to run all that much now. I have a bike and I'm still attempting not to drown.

It's more a deadline than a plan!  :whistling:

Enter for XTerra, then find somebody to help with swimming - from scratch!

Funny enough I have more motivation now than earlier in the year. Might be because of my first Marathon coming up in Jan????????

Very pretty. However, will stick to my Brooks.

Hope everyone ate to much and ran to little over Christmas... :whistling:

The new Nimbus are really nice but ive decided to try Brooks..hope im doing the right thing.  I bought the Asics Dynaflyte after all the rave reviews but find that they make me slap my feet when I run, also no "bounce" so will either have to sell them or hand them down to my son.

I am 3 weeks out from my first marathon and I need some tapering advice from the seasoned runners. I tried the google but its a boatload of conflicting advice. Anything from no long runs in the last 4 weeks up to doing doing a long run within th last 7 days.

I had a solid December, did a long run today, but I can feel my legs starting to get a little heavy. Do I still do another longish run next week, wich will be exactly 2 weeks from race day?

Can only relate to my own experience.

Used to do 32's 2 weeks before mar but I moved that to 3 weeks now, with a 21k 2 weeks out. FWIW

Good luck with the first, it's a special accomplishment ????
