Andrew Steer Posted May 21, 2018 Share Can't believe I am sharing this, but hey... I have a very regimented early morning pre-race #2 routine... the whole week before a big race I will go to the loo first thing, so that come race day there are no surprises and I've got that bogey out the way before even heading to the start. Running works my gut something special, so have to start my runs fresh and light. I also can't handle coffee before a race, else I have to pee half a dozen times in the first 5km's... Andrew Steer Posted May 21, 2018 Share I always wanted to do a triathlon until I did a duathlon.I loved those DualX's... was bummed they pulled the series, it seemed to be doing well. That second run though is always *** hard. Legs being absolutely nowhere when you get on the bike after a swim is worse in my experience though... Xterra taught me a few harsh lessons in that. dave303e Posted May 21, 2018 Share just a quick one, does anyone know how strict comrades entry people are, the substitute window is supposedly closed, and the person considering taking someone's entry it does not have a qualifying race(but is fit enough) do you think they will consider it? Hacc Posted May 21, 2018 Share IM 70.3 is definitely on my bucket list. I first need to survive the 10th of June, be lazy for 3 weeks, dust of my bike and then suffer on a 50km ride. I see there is a new bike race in Pretoria on the 22nd of July. A lovely 100km.I am thinking of entering just to motivate myself to get on my bike. http://www.cycleevents.co.za/road-events/trapnet-360-2018/ I have done 83km this year on my bike, the Ottosdal 84km race. EmJayZA Posted May 21, 2018 Share We triathletes do runs of the bike for fun I did a brick this weekend, and enjoyed my run more than the bike. Very happy to say that the "brick" feeling gets less and less after each brick session. Andrew Steer

I haven't swum there since a Germiston mile a decade plus ago... had a close encounter of the 'floater' kind and swore I would never go back Barry Stuart
