Remember 'nothing (no nothing at all) feels as good as skinny does on a climb' that's what keeps me going ....

The small print on this one says: "Babies who start drinking soda have a higher chance of 'fitting in' during those awkward pre-teen years. Start them on a strict regimen of cola and other sugary carbonated beverages right now, for a lifetime of guaranteed happiness!"

First day on this no sugar diet done

I feel really different ...I think the good part is still to come..

Two weeks in as of this morning myself. Weight loss over two weeks, 1/2 kg! That may be as a result of no sugar or it may be as a result of something else, who knows.

Do I feel better? No, not that I can notice, in fact I have less energy this week. I will however keep going for the rest of the month and have a big spearfishing trip next week which really tests the endurance, might find myself throwing back a few cokes over the three days but I hope not, caffeine does not help keep the heart rate down.

I can honestly say that I have not had any sugar at all and have not increased consumption of fruit, just do not enjoy sugarless tea but I have been told it takes more than a few weeks to "acclimatise". Perhaps it's the increase of fatty biltong keeping the weight on?

The lack of energy may be as a result of Rheumatoid Arthritis which I have but it's strange that the fatigue has set in now. Always find sugar a great help during these periods but it's only my own random findings. Apart from the tea I could live without sugar. And the coke, cake, biscuits, malva pudding............

Just had a slice of Black Forest Gateau. It's my birthday tomorrow, so I bought the office a cake... Jeepers. I can sure feel that sugar now!

It's the first time since last weekend (12th - Raydek's birthday MTB weekend) that I've had any sugar. And I can say that I'm wholeheartedly regretting taking a bite...

I must say...

Off the bike:

Since i went all sugar free a bit more than 2 weeks ago i have drop 2kgs.

I am now use to the no sugar but still get only natural sugar in from the 1 apple i eat daily.

My wife indulged in a Peppermint Crisp chocolate last night and offered me a little blokkie... AND I AM PROUD TO SAY I DID NOT ACCEPT.

On the Bike:

I only train with water, no extra energy drinks or gels... just water.

Will see where i end up come 22 Nov...
