Nice tail wind on the M1 but then Headwind in the second half, CONSTANTLY !!

The M2 onto the M1 is going to be the real challenge from what I remember doing this a few years back with a similar wind... Group will have to make sure they are tight through there!

Here is the wind forecast for Sunday, overlayed on the route map.

Keep the less strong riders out the wind at the start, through the Jhb CBD and along Witkoppen and Malibongwe.

Look for this wind icon on the map

Look on the bright side....tailwind on the uphill 1st half & headwind on the downhill return to Witkoppen. Pass me my rose-tinted specs!

Sjo the pace is going to be seriously fast on the M1 with that tailwind, especially as we get closer to the offramp to Houghton when everyone will try to get to the front to not drop off the back up the hill.

for me climbing is..well climbing, slow and everyone goes up at different speeds, we'l be as fast going uphill as our weakest riders so wind is not so critical, however that tailwind all along the first 40km esp the m1 will really help us get some good speed as a group and maybe give us some time in the bank, also the second half is very much in built up areas untill malibongwe which should provide some shelter from the wind. from malibongwe our race will really start.

hope you feel better captain tombeej

So who of you all actually are 'slow starters' / take a little while to warm up?

(But then the turbo's kick in and you can go till the end okay)

I can go at a decent pace from the start so am happy to work at the beginning.

More importantly, are you in or out for Sunday?

Tombeej hope u recover well in time and in full health to race.

Incase of Tombeej not being able to help us out.

We need someone else in charge?

One of our strong riders to take the initiative.

Excitement starting to kick in minute by minute now..
