Unfortunately a shirt/kit won't work for everyone because some might ride for different causes or sponsors or are some sort of brand ambassador...

Yep, many will ride for causes in the bigger races, but if this takes off in 2015 and carries on through 2016 and beyond it will eventually have a place at training rides and smaller events where guys can pitch up and recognise who is looking to ride as part of I-Team without having to pull off major logistic planning ahead of the event. The majority who do this will not be brand ambassadors, but regular, committed fun riders!

Good. Who else will be joining? There's nice coffee /breakfasts places in Linden (or on our way back) if anyone is keen on joining from here. Otherwise meet us on route (Stevie might have to say which route we will use)...

Here is the loop I normally use for training... (94km)

If anyone wants to hook up en route, give us a heads up before Saturday so we can make a plan to meet up.

Is it some......or everyone?

What about the rest that might like something more noticeable......almost like club colours.

Buy hey.......if your sponsor kit is awesome, it is still your choice.......that reminds me, have to go and wash my Cape Epic kit.

Edit: Agree with TH.......sorry I am a bit slow.

The fun was in the casual nature of this I-Team

There will be advantages and disadvantages of using a specific shirt/kit

-easily recognised which obviously makes it easier to group riders together

-costs involved

-less outsiders hopping in to the group while riding

-riders who wanna join last minute

-riders who have other causes to support

To name a few

Yes I think this idea should definitely continue .

Perhaps the next race can be made as a target and those willing to join with similar 'realistic' goals could work towards it.

As mentioned before, stronger riders can volunteer to act as ride captains if they are willing to sacrifice their ride for the benefit of others, trying to reach their goals.

Salute to the riders who have done so and will be willing to in future

You might have to ride with a butt patch called misfit if you're not careful dude! (Especially if Hayley gets her way... [emoji14]h34r: [emoji317] )

if I lived in JHB I would join just to see what this fuss is all about. Edited by Gen

If you girls carry on we'll have to get one for real and call it "elicious"!!!!

(It's on his butt, which is where Hayley has already signed off on and it's a Patch, so all that's left to say is "elicious"... Ja, it's optional whether you want to 'mentally' say that with an African accent or not)

Each to their own, my faster times have always come from going at my pace and hooking up to, with busses, group starts don't work for me, I just idle at different pace, I'm too heavy for climbs and I tend to get going on the flat stuff, so normally when I start with a group I should get similar times from I normally ride slower at the end, and I end stronger than I start, I must say reading I team thread made me super jealous I wasn't riding,
