Miway insurance claim goes one way

watching this thread with interest, also with miway, also have a expensive carbon bike.

if thats the route they are taking, i will be looking for a new insurer.

Fight them, because ultimately its your life thats in the balance. Going down on a Tar road doing 70-80Km/ph, is not a joke, maybe even death...

I am with Santam. When I destroyed my frame, they paid me out for a whole new bike. They did this because a replacement frame and rebuild was more than 75% of the cost of a new bike.

 

I will never move away from them, their premiums are fair and they have never given any hassles with claims in the 15 years I've been with them.

People have carbon repaired at their own risk, I will not have insurance that I pay a premium for, have a repair done that's not stipulated an that I ca pa out o my own pocket for.

My car insurance used to be with miway untill one monyh they took off a considerable amount more than the normal premium. I phoned to complain and got told it was just a mistake and it happens. The attitude i got on the phone was disgusting so i stripped my moer and told them that i work in the aviation field and i make a mistake 200 people die so they must shove their insurance. All of a sudden without asking i get a manager on the phone. I told him as well to stick his insurance. Funny thing was up till then i had no issues. Granted i had only ever claimed once for a cracked windscreen.

Same here, no repairer wanted to guarantee the integrity of the frame after repairs so Santam said...here we go, boom, NEW frame for you.

Change from Miway.....I knew there is *** coming as soon as the OP said claim and Miway in the same sentence....Santam or Hollard is the only place to be in my opinion.

Their premiums are just so bloody expensive. I work in the group, we get employee discount, I literally begged one of the managers to give me a more competitive premium but still no joy - according to their risk matrixes I must be a claim waiting to happen...

Lucky you - the Santam computer hates me, the quotes I get arent even in the ballpark.

I will tell them to go **** themselves. If they dont give you a new frame, go to the Ombudsman. And he will also tell them to go **** themselves. Scum insurance company.
